Troop 357 will again be hosting Merit Badge University on February 26, 2011 at Highland United Methodist Church located at 1901 Ridge Road, Raleigh, NC 27607. We are very excited about putting this together again and look forward to your troop’s participation. You are receiving this email if you either participated last year as a troop contact or have expressed an interest in your troop attending in 2011. MBU 2011 will be very similar to what you have seen and participated in over the past few years.
We are handling registration a little bit differently this year and will NOT be using the website that we used last year. We will be registering each troop as a whole using the attached Excel file. (1) file and (1) check per troop! There are two tabs in the file. The first tab labeled “ Registration Sheet “ is what I need you to complete and then email the file back to me at this email address. Directions for completing the sheet are listed at the top of the sheet.
The second tab labeled “ Merit Badge List “ has a list of the merit badges for which we will be holding classes and the abbreviations used on the Registration Sheet.
Key items as listed on the Registration Sheet are as follows :
· Registration is open today, November 3, 2010 and will close on Wednesday, November 24, 2010.
· Your troop will be registered pending available space once I receive your emailed file and your check is received. Mailing instructions for the check are included in the file.
· Classes will be assigned no later than Wednesday, January 5, 2011 and at that point information will be emailed to all troop contacts as well as counselors.
· Cost is $25 per scout and is non-refundable. This is a fundraising event.
I have spoken to many of you already but we are still looking for several merit badge counselors. Please be sure to complete that section of the Registration Sheet. The preferred method of contact to me is by email but I can be contacted on my cell at 919-422-6121. Please leave a message and I will quickly return the call. If you know of a troop that may be interested that I have not included, please let me know.
Thanks and I look forward to hearing from you!
